Microsoft's gone all expansion-crazy this week, what with AoE3 and now this: three Zoo Tycoon 2 expansions all due out this year.
This download moves all content from Zoo Tycoon 2: Dino Danger Pack to the 'Extinct Animals' filter as all the animals from the Dino Danger Pack were remade in Extinct Animals and the newer expansion includes the entire old premium download. This leaves just one filter to sort through the Extinct-themed content rather than two.
They are a pair of buy-in-shops packs called African Adventure and Marine Mania, and a third, downloadable offering going by Dino Danger Pack. All are developed by Blue Fang Games, as ever.

Zoo Tycoon 2 All Expansions
African Adventure, due out in May, allows you to adopt and care for 20 new African animals from eight biomes, including an Ethiopian wolf which sounds very exciting. There'll also be 'dozens' of new buildings, objects and gift items and a full desert theme pack, as well as a Jeep Liberty with optional animal-skin paintjobs to drive around in.
The other two are due out later this year and both will include various new scenarios and themes, as you'd expect.
Which is all good news if you liked the rather gentle, fondly enjoyable exploits of Zoo Tycoon 2. And news of no real virtue if you didn't - what are you doing here, weirdo?
Endangered Species is an expansion for Microsoft's Zoo Tycoon 2 PC game, and was the first of three released. Like all expansions, Endangered Species requires the original Zoo Tycoon 2 game installed. The expansion adds extra campaigns, items, and animals. Endangered Species contains 20 new animals, which vary in rarity.
Graphical Patches
Endangered Species included multiple patches for the graphics of the game on the disc, and these were generally welcomed by PC gamers as the original game graphics were regarded as being somewhat poor. Should the PC being used be able to handle 'Very High' settings for water detail, the water became transparent, rather than a solid color. On top of this,

all 2D objects contained in the original Zoo Tycoon 2 were upgraded into 3D with the Endangered Species expansion pack. New Animals
Endangered Species boosted the roster of animals present in the game by 20, and as the name would suggest, focuses entirely on endangered species of animal, such as the orangutan. As well as adding new animals, Endangered Species reworked the AI of animals that were included in the original game, and allowed them to be herded more easily amongst other things. Despite the fact that these animals were all added to the game before Zoo Tycoon 2 for the Nintendo DS was released, the only Endangered Species animals to appear in the DS version of the game are the Spanish Lynx, Orangutan and Koala.
